Earlier this month we had the pleasure of hosting ‘Semantics’ and celebrated the launch of our new museum exhibition ‘Villawood.’ It was an evening of language, art, music and community. We enjoyed a performance from Jannawi Dance Clan, discussed the importance of language in spaces with our Language Exchange artists, investigated the ethics of community arts with some of Villawood artists, and enjoyed performances from local legends Gemma Navarrete and L-Fresh The Lion! Our Villawood exhibition explores stories, images, objects, and artworks that trace the histories of the suburb of Villawood – it will be exhibited in our Museum until 19 October 2024.
